Broccoli

Harleyann asks me while I am fixing dinner what we are having so I tell her pot roast, potatoes, gravy and a veggie. So she asks me what veggie we are having so I tell her broccoli.

H: "I don't want broccoli."
M: "But you love broccoli."
H: "But I can't eat it."
M: "And why can't you eat it?"
H: "Because my brain said not to eat it."
M: "And why did your brain say not to eat it?"
H: "Because my brain is allergic to broccoli."

"Really mom I am serious, my brain is allergic to broccoli."

Silly Harleyann

My sister in law has 2 beautiful daughters, Macy (3) and Claire (1). Claire just turned 1 on Sat and Harleyann went down with her Nana and Pop-pop to help Claire celebrate. I am not sure the story around it but at some point while there she looks at Aunt Christy and says in regards to Macy, the 3 year old, "Is she new?"
Crazy kid.
This is a flashback to when Harleyann decided she was going to eat real food vs. baby food.
A little background info for those that do not know, Harleyann was born when I was 24 weeks pregnant. So she was really delayed and while some felt that I started her on baby food to soon since at 6 months she was like a newborn and if you go by that measure than she was only like 2 months old when she started baby food but actually she was 8 months. So on to the story.

At the time Harleyann was 10 months old (only like a 4 month old) and we had went to lunch a Ruby Tuesdays. She was in her carrier next to the table. We were eating burgers and fries and apparently she wanted a fry and took one off of Jeff's plate and started eating it, Jeff and I looked at each other and I said she wasn't suppose to have that yet so I took it from her and she got mad, real mad. So I figured if she is gonna take it then what harm can it do it is just a fry and she had been eating baby food. So I gave her a fry and she threw it across the restaurant. The girl has an arm. I was stunned and then started laughing that she threw the french fry. She did take several more fries off of mine and Jeff's plates and ate them like a champ and never looked back. The girl loves food and I believe that is when her love of food began.

Harleyann and cheeseballs

We had went to Sam's club to get a few things a couple weeks ago and Harleyann wanted some cheeseballs and a big thing of them was like $6.00 so we got her some and she had forgot about them I guess because she never asked for any of them. So she got home from school today, hungry as always. So I fix her some cheeseballs and she got excited about them.

So daddy is trying to get her to do homework and he is making her do so many problems before she can have a cheeseball. So she gets to one that she has to write a 5. She is not good at writing 5's so she tells her daddy that she forgot how he taught her to write 5's and she needs his help. Well a second passes and he is getting ready to help her when she says........................

.....................................................

.....................................................

"Daddy, i'll let you have a cheeseball if you help me write this 5!"

My daughter is to funny, daddy taught her well.

JJ and the applesauce

Well half the applesauce ended up on me because JJ got all excited and hit the cup and it ended up on mommy and the couch. After a quick cleanup, I decided to sit in the floor and JJ on the couch, well JJ decided I was not giving it to him fast enough and he ended up face first into the applesauce, dang where is a camara when you need one.

JJ & Harleyann

Harleyann has a bad habit of ignoring JJ. JJ absolutly adores her and smiles at her and babbles to her and she just ignores him. So he has started to now resort to being mean. So this evening he was trying to get her attention, he would put his face right in front of hers and she would turn her head or just be like "JJ, leave me alone." So he started pulling her hair. We tell JJ that Harleyann is Sissy since we know it will be a while before he can say Harley much less Harleyann, so we figured Sissy will be good to call her. So tonight he decided that she is "NeNe." So it went something like this, JJ leaning in front of Harleyann's face, she turned away, oh hair....so he pulled and would say "NeNe", she would move, he would move, pull hair while saying "NeNe". So then when he was trying to get her attention he would say "NeNe." So now Harleyann will be known as NeNe.

Another thing that happened this evening, after ignoring JJ, she decided she wanted to tickle his belly and he smacked her arm. He just lifted the one hand and smacked her. Then she would tickle him and he would pinch her. Guess she deserved it for ignoring him when he wanted to play with her. But she didn't feel that way.

Gotta love children and having a 7 year old and a 10 month old (will be 11 months on the 24th, wow time flys when you have kiddos)

Hi

Just a quick post about my other blog if anyone would like to check it out too:

JJ: Practicing for the Olympics

So I think my son is practicing for the Olympics for spring vaulting or maybe he just wants to be a flying squirrel. We were sitting on the couch, he in my lap and he just jumps off my lap bounces on the couch cushion goes flying in the air with hands and feet spread out wide, and lands belly down on the floor, he then lifts his head and just smiles the biggest smile. Then he does a 180 crawl and sits up throws his hands in the air and says "hi" and laughs.

About 15 minutes later he his boucing on the couch. He was standing up on the side and kindda throws his self backwards on his back and laughs, then he rolls and then rolls again right off the couch. He hit the back of his head on one of his toys, he looks at the toy, like how dare you be in my way. Then he just laughs and laughs.

My kid is tough and he gets mad when I stop him from doing things. This momma really sees a heartattack in her future with this kiddo.

Dare Devil

I think I just may have the next Evil Knievel on my hands. So last night JJ is on the couch and I guess he wanted what was on the high chair which is in the living room by the couch so he crawls over to that side of the couch. He pulls his self up using the high chair.

So here he is literally standing ip with only one toe on the couch reaching something on the highchair, when the high chair tray (which was locked in place) popped of causeing him to fall into the floor, get hit in the head with the highchair tray, he goes augh then speeds crawls across the floor.

I swear this kid is crazy and nothing hurts him.

He will literally on purpose go head first off the couch because he thinks it is funny, mommy on the other had is always scared to death that he is going to hurt his self. I swear he is going to give me a heart attack before it is all said and done.

Boys will be boys, is really the perfect saying.

Harleyann: Shake your ___________

Last night I was cooking dinner and sometimes I sing and make up songs about the ingredients that I am adding. Well I was making batter for the fish that I was frying so I would sing (to the tune of KC and the Sunshine Band 'Shake your Booty') "Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake the {insert ingredient here}" So Harleyann starts singing, "shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your booty" So each time around she would change Booty to something else that represents the Booty, she would say Butt, Bottom, and then it came out "Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your ass..." I so could not punish her for saying a bad word because it floored me and I busted out laughing, I did reiterate that while mommy and daddy do on occasion slip and say ass, that it is still a bad word and that we should not use that word. But it was just to dog on funny.

Funnies from my kids today

AS you know from one of my previous post JJ decided to take his mobile down off his crib, well I tried putting it back up and again he took it down, we had not been using it. So JJ does not like to stay still AT ALL. I am constantly having to fight with him in order to change his diaper because he is turning and twisting and sitting up and it is terrible trying to change diapers. So I had a great idea, what if I put the mobile on the changing table to try and divert his attention, and it has actually worked for the most part, sometimes he will sit up but for the most part it is much better.

He likes to pull on the mobile characters (loony tunes) to get them off and he keeps pulling Tweety off. So today he pulled Tweety off and he says HI DADA!! all excited. Dada was at work, so he kept talking to Tweety saying hi dada, hi dada. Then he pulls on Taz and says HI JJ!! all excited. I swear this kid cracks me up. So he has apparently named Tweety: Dada and Taz: JJ.

We are race fans and Harleyann likes Dale Jr. This is something that has been stated years ago when we were gonna watch the race while her daddy was at work. Daddy likes Dale Jr. and Momma likes Elliott Sadler. So we sat down to watch the race one day and I said to Harleyann, let's go root for Elliott Sadler to which she responded with attitude, hands on hips, head moving back and forth and proclaimed: "I like Dale Jr, JUST. LIKE. MY. DADDY!" So she is a Jr fan. Well today was the twin 150 qualifying races and Dale Jr was in the 2nd race, he started on the pole for the race and finished 21st. When she asked who won I told her Kasey Kahne and she asked where Jr finished and I told her to which she said "Come on Jr. You NEVER win anymore!!!"

Then tonight I am trying to locate Valentines cards because I want to use up Valentine's cards that we have left over from previous years and the only ones I can find are Dora. Harleyann says "I am to old for Dora, that is so...........Pre-Schoolish."

So Jeff is playing Farmville and he let me know that he posted an egg so I could go hatch it and Harleyann said, "I just laid an egg"

Silly Kids!!!! I love them.

I see London

Harleyan to Daddy:

"I see London, I see France, I see daddy's underpants"

I know that song is way older than me but for her just to come out and sing it because she seen her daddy's underpants had me cracking up.

Dadies

This morning JJ decided that he was going to make me get up at 5:30a. Harleyann has a snow day, again, and I thought that I would be able to get up around 7a vs. 6a, like all week. Apparently not this morning!! So I go get JJ and bring him in my room where I change him and the whole time he is looking at his sleeping daddy saying "dada, dada, daaadaaa, dadies, daaaaaadaaaaaa, daaaadieeeesss"

Once his diaper was changed he climbed up on Jeff's side and started pulling his ear, and repeating "dada, dada, daaadaaa, dadies, daaaaaadaaaaaa, daaaadieeeesss" over and over again until Jeff finally woke up and then JJ started screaming like a banshee!!

To cute he is, but really screaming at 5:30a is not my idea of fun.

Girls

JJ is just to cute and the boy at 10 months is a ladies man. All the ladies think he is the cutest thing and the boy tries to break his neck when he sees a beautiful women/girl walk by.

He will flash his dimple, toothy smile at them, he will wave and when they walk away his head is following.

I can see that it is going to be a fun ride with him and girls.

All I gotta say is LORD HELP US!!!!

Just Like Daddy

My mother in law has told me this story about Jeff and how he used to suck on his blankie. Well I have a blankie sucker as well.

Last night I went into JJ's room to check on him and he was laying on his right side, blanket in his left hand, blanket going under his right side, coming back up his back and draping over his left side. It was very cute really. But I couldn't help but smile and I got a nice giggle out of it because all I could think was this boy is just like his daddy.

While Jeff has moved beyond sucking on the blanket he does intwine himself in the blanket making it difficult for me to stay warm and that is what I thought of as I seen JJ the way he was.

I do feel sorry for his future wife, I hope they learn to sleep with 2 blankets, one for her and one for him.
