Num-Num Noodles

Today JJ and I had chicken and noodle soup that I had made. So I fixed JJ's first and fed him while mine was warming up. When feeding him I would say num-num noodle (once the noodle went in his mouth). So after he finished his noodles I fixed his cup and sat him in the living room floor so he could drink his milk. I got my food and came and sat on the couch, so he came over to the couch with his cup wanting to sit on the couch. So I helped him up and sat him beside me to drink his milk and I was eating.

Apparently he wanted more noodles and started going num-num. So I was sharing them with him and he wanted to share his milk with me, I kept telling him no thank you. So he would take a drink and offer again. This went on a few minutes. He was going num-num, num-num while I was taking a few bites and I guess I was taking to long and he put his cup into my bowl of soup and grabbed a noodle.

My silly boy, needless to say he got to eat more noodles and well mommy was done. I went and rinsed the cup off and gave it back to him and he finished drinking his milk.

Age

So I like when my daughter tells me I am younger than I am. It makes me feel youthful and beautiful.

Then the other shoe falls and we have conversations like this:

H: Mommy your 50!

M: I know you didn't just say that I was 50. I am not 50.

H: OK OK your 90!!

How she went from 50 to 90 boggles my mind, but I think I will take the 50 over the 90. Even though I am only 33. Sigh!!

But she best be glad I love her because I could just hurt someone that said that!!!

Out of the blue

Harleyann screams:

"YOU'LL NEVER TAKE US ALIVE!!!"

She has watched Alvin in the Chipmunks one to many times I think. Her other fave saying that she goes around saying all the time from that movie is...

"It's Hott."

This cracked me up a little bit

As I am sure we have all at one time or another have seen the movie Charlotte's Web or read the book. Anyhow we all know that at the end Charlotte dies. So my daughter got the movie a couple years back when the new version came out. She has watched it some and this evening we were watching it and it got to the end right before Charlotte dies and Harleyann says "This part is so sad."

.............................

wait for it

............................

wait for it

............................

"It makes my ears cry."

I laughed and asked her if I heard her right? To which she said "and it makes my head cry."

So apparently my daughter does not cry the conventionally, as her eyes do not cry but her ears and head do.

Nothing is funnier than.....

When your little one just sits in the middle of the floor and starts laughing for no apparent reason. Ahhh wouldn't it be nice if we all just did that every now and then. Laugh for no reason.

Chalk Monster

So instead of a cookie monster, I have a chalk monster. No matter where I move the sidewalk chalk of Harleyann's, JJ is sure to find it and well eat it. I am hoping that it is not toxic, but then again I am sure that we all at some point in time ate chalk and probably a lot of other things that should not have been eaten, such as mudpies, dirt, worms, glue and well you get the drift.

I do now have it up and hopefully he will not be able to get it now and the next time he does will understand it is to draw on the sidewalk/road with and not eat.

JJ's first spaghetti supper

You know we all have to take pics of the first spaghetti supper of our little ones. JJ had his on Wends night and here are the pics:

My Children Make A Liar Outta Me

So last night JJ spent the night at his Nana and Pop-pops, the first time away from mommy overnight. I actually didn't do as bad as I thought I would, I had a much harder time with Harleyann. But it was nice. So I wrote down a note for Nana and I put on there that he wakes up every morning between 6 & 6:30A. BTW: I HATE that my children are morning people. So does he wake up between 6 & 6:30A, NO!!!!! He wakes up at 8A. WTH Seriously, I would give ANYTHING if he would sleep till 8a. I don't get it. But then whenever I say something about my daughter, I always get the report of the opposite. I SWEAR kids live to make their parents look like liars!!!
8A, I am not a morning person he can at least give me that, especially on the weekends when I don't have to be up to get Harleyann ready for school. It would be nice if I didn't have to deal with him being up while I am trying to get her ready for school. I think they have a pact to make it hard on me because I am running in 2 totally different directions until Harleyann gets on the bus.

What Mommy???

So I had heard JJ wake up, he cried all of 2 seconds and I thought well maybe he just cried in his sleep like sometimes he will do, because it got real quiet after that. So about 10 minutes later I heard him start babbling and laughing, so I go in his room. Right away I notice something missing. Can you guess what should be here?

Yes the mobile!!! He took it down and it is now in his crib where he had been playing with it. This is his “What are you talking about mommy? There is nothing in my crib that shouldn’t be!” look.

This is what his mobile looks like right now:

Crazy Kid!!

Theodore and Eleanor

As many of you have seen, McDonald’s currently has the Alvin and The Chipmunks 2 the Squeakquel toys in the happy meals. Well Harleyann has 2 of them, Theodore and Eleanor. So I was telling her that they are girlfriend and boyfriend and so she is playing with them making them converse; which is funny in itself. So she makes Eleanor tell Theodore, “I love you.” So then she runs in the living room and the following conversation ensued between us:

H: “Mommy, she told Theodore she loved her and that is so gross.”

M: “Well you are the one who made her say it, if you think it is gross don’t make her say it to him.”

H: “But mommy she loves him and he loves her.” Slight Pause “And she is the one that said it not me, I don’t talk for her.”

At that point I just did not know what to say so I just let it go and told her to go back and play.

Who's The Boss

These were taken 1/13/10. JJ was stepping on Harleyann. She was hollering he was standing on her but it was just to funny not to get a couple of pictures before getting him off of her.

Funny Picture of JJ

These were taken 1/14/10 after he had finished eating lunch and would not give me the spoon back after giving him the last bite.

JJ: Diaper Change Funny

JJ had just finished eating his lunch and he started to cry, he does not like wet/messy diapers on, so I check his diaper and it was messy. So I get the diaper undone and first thing he does is stick his leg on the poopy in the diaper. Of course I say "You are not suppose to make a bigger mess" to which I get a responding giggle. So I get the wipe and clean his leg off when he sticks his hand in the poop I have yet to clean off of his private area and just laughs. I think he knew what he was doing. So I finish cleaning his leg and then clean his hand and finally get to clean the original mess, when what does he do, yes he grabs his privates and starts pulling getting yet more poop on his hand all the while smiling and laughing. I finally get him cleaned up and you have to be fast with this kid because he is a mover and DOES NOT SIT STILL, EVER!!!! I finally fight through the diaper change and cleaning every other part of him that he could possibly get poop on and get his sleeper back on and then he is off!!!!

INTRO: The humor of it all

I am Leslie, I am a SAHM of 2 wonderful, yet humorous, children.

I first became a mom in June of 2002, when my wonderful daughter, Harleyann, was born. She decided to be born when I was only 24 weeks pregnant with her, so I did not get to experience the normal pregnancy, birth, early motherhood. While yes technically I was a parent, but my daughter spent the first 176 days of her like in the NICU and when she came home while she was like a newborn, it was different in the fact that she did not do things like a normal newborn. She was a week shy of 6 months old when we got to start our parenting journey and I have loved every moment of it. We have had our ups and downs, scary moments and all, but I have loved every minute of it and would not have changed a thing, because it has taught me many valuable life lessons. I remember when she was in the NICU not wanting to leave her, I was afraid what if while I was sleeping they tried to call me and I didn't wake up and we lost her, luckily that never happened and today she is a beautiful 7 year old with such an aura about her that makes people just love her. She was much older when she began to be a little comedian.

So fast forward to March 2009, after a long, stressful, scary, crazy, wild 37 weeks of pregnancy we welcomed a bouncing baby boy, Jeffrey Jr (JJ for short), literally bouncing, I swear I must have fed the kids Mexican jumping beans while I was pregnant with him. He decided to cook a lot longer than his sister, while it was not an easy pregnancy and spending a lot of time in the doctor’s office and sometime in the hospital we managed to make it to 37 weeks exactly. While at the end a very scary thing happened I can say I am here with him and we both made it through. Now since day one this kid has been a riot. He has done things that some people would be downright disgusted with, but I find it down right funny. You have to enjoy things in life and laugh and if your kids can't make you laugh then I think there is probably no hope for you.

So while I think my kids are dog on hilarious, I thought I would share some of their antics with the world. I hope that you will get some laughs as much as I do.
