The cat did it

So this morning I was trying to watch a show that I had on my DVR and JJ kept turning the tv off, I had told him it is not a game and that the next time he turned the tv off he was going to be punished.

So about 5 mins later we watch him creep over to the tv and hits the lite up button (power) and off it goes, so I said

"Jeffrey Stuart M****** Jr, what did I tell you? You are in trouble mister."

He runs over to me and climbs up on the box next to the couch and says:

"The cat did it!"

Seriously, Jeff and I lost composure and I could not for one second punish him for it.

80s

So yesterday JJ pulled out of picture of me from when I was in high school, it was in 1994 and I was 18. Well Harleyann picked it up and says who is this and Jeff said it was me. To which Harleyann replied

"You look funny, what are you in your 80's!"

She meant to ask if it was in the 80's. I told her it was in 1994 and that I was 18. Now every time she looks at the picture she says I look funny and laughs.

Seriously it is a really good picture and I do not look funny.

Silly girl.

F

So we generally do not cuss around the kids. Every now and then a damn or a s*** may slip up but that is pretty much it. My sister whom is fond of the F word even is pretty good about not slipping up in front of the kids.

So this past weekend JJ started saying "F", he uses it in the context that you would use the F word.

Like for example the other day he was getting into something he wasn't suppose to when I was not looking and then when I caught him and said something he looks at me and throws his hands down by his side and says "F" and then sort of stomps off.

     I couldn't help but laugh.

Kids and food

My husband and I are picky eaters, so why of course would our kids not be. However, why is it the stuff we like they don't like.

Neither of them are big on meats, my husband and I love some meat.

So JJ when ever he is given something he doesn't like you will start hearing little pieces of stuff hit the floor. "Really, you can't just leave it on the tray for me to clean up?" I am always asking him. But then again this is the same child whom throws his plate, bowl, fork, spoon, cup, or whatever in the floor when he is done. Sigh gotta love this age, hopefully soon it will pass because this mommy does not like living on the floor.

Tonight I fixed a new dish Skillet Pork Chop Parmesan, it was delicious, both my husband and I loved it, Harleyann and JJ did not. JJ's ended up where else but in the floor.

Harleyann said "Mommy, I promise to never make this again."
M: "What?"
H: "I promise never to make this again, oh wait, i mean, promise me you want make this anymore."
A minute later
H: "Oh but you can make the noodles again."

However, I think I liked it the first way when she said she promises never to make it again, LOL. I however did not promise to that because I liked it and I will make it again!! Her brother and her can eat just noodles!!

I am a women

Tonight sitting down together as a family Harleyann starts asking her daddy who's spaghetti he likes better mine or his moms. To which he replies he likes them both equally. So he askes her which was her favorite and she said "Nana's, but I am a meatloaf women. I mean a meatloaf kind of women. I am a women!"

Where does she come up with this stuff?? An 8 yr old women, I think not.

Hi Kitty

My 18 month old doesn't talk much, well at least to us. He can say hi, bye, mama, dada, occasionally you will hear him say sissy, he can say see and tickle, tickle, tickle (which sounds more like litle, litle, litle ~ but we know what he is saying), he also says kitty, yes and hey.

He loves our cat and he is always greeting Buddy with Hi kitty. So today while sitting in his booster seat waiting to be served his breakfast, Buddy (the cat) walks into the kitchen and this comes out of JJ's mouth:

Hi Kitty
Hey Kitty
What you doing Kitty?

I looked at him and was like where did that come from, of course he will not say that to us just the cat. Silly kid.

It has been too long

I have to first apologize for not posting in a while as I have been having issues dealing with the lose of my dad back in March. But I am getting back to my "new" self so to speak. So I will be getting back to my postings regularly and I hope that you all will enjoy.

Harleyann funny

So after about 50 times of asking Harleyann nicely to do her homework I got a little loud with her and told her she would not eat until she finished her homework. So while I was in the kitchen cooking and trying to take caare of JJ, Harleyann says something to me and I did not hear her so I asked her what she said so she sighs and says "TALKING TO YOU IS LIKE TALKING TO A BRICK WALL!!"

Seriously my 7 year old said that to me. I honestly did not hear her and I do not know where she got this from.

Silly girl.

Harleyann thinks shes funny

Well ok maybe it is funny.

Yesterday Jeff was off work but he and a friend of ours went out to go shoot and he was not home when Harleyann got here. Harleyann knew he was off and wanted to know where he was. I told her that he had went somewhere and would be back later. So she said I want to talk to him. So I texted him to tell him to call her on the house phone. This is what Harleyann did after he sent me a text backing saying ok:

H: "Ring phone ring, please. Please ring. Mommy why is he not calling me."
M: "He will call in a few minutes."
H: "Come on phone ring, please ring. Ring phone ring."

I texted him back telling him that she is begging the phone to ring and so he called her.

When she got off the phone with him she tells me that he is going to call HER back and that he NEVER EVER wanted to talk to me again.

A little while later he calls her back and when they get off the phone I asked what he said and she said "He said you were a dork."

But he called me on my cell because he asked to talk to me and she wouldn't let him.

What a little stinker and GOD HELP ME when this child starts becoming interseted in boys!!

Harleyann's adventure of diaper changing

So Harleyann says "Mommy, JJ needs a diaper change and I want to change it. Can you get me a diaper please."
(I was cooking dinner in the kitchen)
So I go get her a diaper and she gets the old one off and JJ does not stay still at all. So as soon as that diaper was off he was off. He was all over the place and this is what I hear:
"JJ honey, you need to come over here and lay down so I can put this diaper on." trying to get JJ to lay down so she can put the clean diaper on.
"Honey, baby, I need you to lay down please."
"JJ, please baby, lay down."
"Mommy he want lay down."

So I give him a bottle so he will lay down and be still (I could have done it from the beginning but it was way funnier watching her try and get him to co-operate).

She gets the diaper on and this is what I hear next.

"JJ, I SEE YOUR BOY PARTS!!!!"
I turned around and the diaper was on but not right and his boy part was hanging out and the diaper was hooked across his thighs. I could not help but laugh. I ended up putting the diaper on him myself.

Broccoli

Harleyann asks me while I am fixing dinner what we are having so I tell her pot roast, potatoes, gravy and a veggie. So she asks me what veggie we are having so I tell her broccoli.

H: "I don't want broccoli."
M: "But you love broccoli."
H: "But I can't eat it."
M: "And why can't you eat it?"
H: "Because my brain said not to eat it."
M: "And why did your brain say not to eat it?"
H: "Because my brain is allergic to broccoli."

"Really mom I am serious, my brain is allergic to broccoli."

Silly Harleyann

My sister in law has 2 beautiful daughters, Macy (3) and Claire (1). Claire just turned 1 on Sat and Harleyann went down with her Nana and Pop-pop to help Claire celebrate. I am not sure the story around it but at some point while there she looks at Aunt Christy and says in regards to Macy, the 3 year old, "Is she new?"
Crazy kid.
This is a flashback to when Harleyann decided she was going to eat real food vs. baby food.
A little background info for those that do not know, Harleyann was born when I was 24 weeks pregnant. So she was really delayed and while some felt that I started her on baby food to soon since at 6 months she was like a newborn and if you go by that measure than she was only like 2 months old when she started baby food but actually she was 8 months. So on to the story.

At the time Harleyann was 10 months old (only like a 4 month old) and we had went to lunch a Ruby Tuesdays. She was in her carrier next to the table. We were eating burgers and fries and apparently she wanted a fry and took one off of Jeff's plate and started eating it, Jeff and I looked at each other and I said she wasn't suppose to have that yet so I took it from her and she got mad, real mad. So I figured if she is gonna take it then what harm can it do it is just a fry and she had been eating baby food. So I gave her a fry and she threw it across the restaurant. The girl has an arm. I was stunned and then started laughing that she threw the french fry. She did take several more fries off of mine and Jeff's plates and ate them like a champ and never looked back. The girl loves food and I believe that is when her love of food began.

Harleyann and cheeseballs

We had went to Sam's club to get a few things a couple weeks ago and Harleyann wanted some cheeseballs and a big thing of them was like $6.00 so we got her some and she had forgot about them I guess because she never asked for any of them. So she got home from school today, hungry as always. So I fix her some cheeseballs and she got excited about them.

So daddy is trying to get her to do homework and he is making her do so many problems before she can have a cheeseball. So she gets to one that she has to write a 5. She is not good at writing 5's so she tells her daddy that she forgot how he taught her to write 5's and she needs his help. Well a second passes and he is getting ready to help her when she says........................

.....................................................

.....................................................

"Daddy, i'll let you have a cheeseball if you help me write this 5!"

My daughter is to funny, daddy taught her well.

JJ and the applesauce

Well half the applesauce ended up on me because JJ got all excited and hit the cup and it ended up on mommy and the couch. After a quick cleanup, I decided to sit in the floor and JJ on the couch, well JJ decided I was not giving it to him fast enough and he ended up face first into the applesauce, dang where is a camara when you need one.

JJ & Harleyann

Harleyann has a bad habit of ignoring JJ. JJ absolutly adores her and smiles at her and babbles to her and she just ignores him. So he has started to now resort to being mean. So this evening he was trying to get her attention, he would put his face right in front of hers and she would turn her head or just be like "JJ, leave me alone." So he started pulling her hair. We tell JJ that Harleyann is Sissy since we know it will be a while before he can say Harley much less Harleyann, so we figured Sissy will be good to call her. So tonight he decided that she is "NeNe." So it went something like this, JJ leaning in front of Harleyann's face, she turned away, oh hair....so he pulled and would say "NeNe", she would move, he would move, pull hair while saying "NeNe". So then when he was trying to get her attention he would say "NeNe." So now Harleyann will be known as NeNe.

Another thing that happened this evening, after ignoring JJ, she decided she wanted to tickle his belly and he smacked her arm. He just lifted the one hand and smacked her. Then she would tickle him and he would pinch her. Guess she deserved it for ignoring him when he wanted to play with her. But she didn't feel that way.

Gotta love children and having a 7 year old and a 10 month old (will be 11 months on the 24th, wow time flys when you have kiddos)

Hi

Just a quick post about my other blog if anyone would like to check it out too:

http://mylifeloveheart.blogspot.com/

JJ: Practicing for the Olympics

So I think my son is practicing for the Olympics for spring vaulting or maybe he just wants to be a flying squirrel. We were sitting on the couch, he in my lap and he just jumps off my lap bounces on the couch cushion goes flying in the air with hands and feet spread out wide, and lands belly down on the floor, he then lifts his head and just smiles the biggest smile. Then he does a 180 crawl and sits up throws his hands in the air and says "hi" and laughs.

About 15 minutes later he his boucing on the couch. He was standing up on the side and kindda throws his self backwards on his back and laughs, then he rolls and then rolls again right off the couch. He hit the back of his head on one of his toys, he looks at the toy, like how dare you be in my way. Then he just laughs and laughs.

My kid is tough and he gets mad when I stop him from doing things. This momma really sees a heartattack in her future with this kiddo.

Dare Devil

I think I just may have the next Evil Knievel on my hands. So last night JJ is on the couch and I guess he wanted what was on the high chair which is in the living room by the couch so he crawls over to that side of the couch. He pulls his self up using the high chair.

So here he is literally standing ip with only one toe on the couch reaching something on the highchair, when the high chair tray (which was locked in place) popped of causeing him to fall into the floor, get hit in the head with the highchair tray, he goes augh then speeds crawls across the floor.

I swear this kid is crazy and nothing hurts him.

He will literally on purpose go head first off the couch because he thinks it is funny, mommy on the other had is always scared to death that he is going to hurt his self. I swear he is going to give me a heart attack before it is all said and done.

Boys will be boys, is really the perfect saying.

Harleyann: Shake your ___________

Last night I was cooking dinner and sometimes I sing and make up songs about the ingredients that I am adding. Well I was making batter for the fish that I was frying so I would sing (to the tune of KC and the Sunshine Band 'Shake your Booty') "Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake the {insert ingredient here}" So Harleyann starts singing, "shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your booty" So each time around she would change Booty to something else that represents the Booty, she would say Butt, Bottom, and then it came out "Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your ass..." I so could not punish her for saying a bad word because it floored me and I busted out laughing, I did reiterate that while mommy and daddy do on occasion slip and say ass, that it is still a bad word and that we should not use that word. But it was just to dog on funny.

Funnies from my kids today

AS you know from one of my previous post JJ decided to take his mobile down off his crib, well I tried putting it back up and again he took it down, we had not been using it. So JJ does not like to stay still AT ALL. I am constantly having to fight with him in order to change his diaper because he is turning and twisting and sitting up and it is terrible trying to change diapers. So I had a great idea, what if I put the mobile on the changing table to try and divert his attention, and it has actually worked for the most part, sometimes he will sit up but for the most part it is much better.

He likes to pull on the mobile characters (loony tunes) to get them off and he keeps pulling Tweety off. So today he pulled Tweety off and he says HI DADA!! all excited. Dada was at work, so he kept talking to Tweety saying hi dada, hi dada. Then he pulls on Taz and says HI JJ!! all excited. I swear this kid cracks me up. So he has apparently named Tweety: Dada and Taz: JJ.

We are race fans and Harleyann likes Dale Jr. This is something that has been stated years ago when we were gonna watch the race while her daddy was at work. Daddy likes Dale Jr. and Momma likes Elliott Sadler. So we sat down to watch the race one day and I said to Harleyann, let's go root for Elliott Sadler to which she responded with attitude, hands on hips, head moving back and forth and proclaimed: "I like Dale Jr, JUST. LIKE. MY. DADDY!" So she is a Jr fan. Well today was the twin 150 qualifying races and Dale Jr was in the 2nd race, he started on the pole for the race and finished 21st. When she asked who won I told her Kasey Kahne and she asked where Jr finished and I told her to which she said "Come on Jr. You NEVER win anymore!!!"

Then tonight I am trying to locate Valentines cards because I want to use up Valentine's cards that we have left over from previous years and the only ones I can find are Dora. Harleyann says "I am to old for Dora, that is so...........Pre-Schoolish."

So Jeff is playing Farmville and he let me know that he posted an egg so I could go hatch it and Harleyann said, "I just laid an egg"

Silly Kids!!!! I love them.

I see London

Harleyan to Daddy:

"I see London, I see France, I see daddy's underpants"

I know that song is way older than me but for her just to come out and sing it because she seen her daddy's underpants had me cracking up.

Dadies

This morning JJ decided that he was going to make me get up at 5:30a. Harleyann has a snow day, again, and I thought that I would be able to get up around 7a vs. 6a, like all week. Apparently not this morning!! So I go get JJ and bring him in my room where I change him and the whole time he is looking at his sleeping daddy saying "dada, dada, daaadaaa, dadies, daaaaaadaaaaaa, daaaadieeeesss"

Once his diaper was changed he climbed up on Jeff's side and started pulling his ear, and repeating "dada, dada, daaadaaa, dadies, daaaaaadaaaaaa, daaaadieeeesss" over and over again until Jeff finally woke up and then JJ started screaming like a banshee!!

To cute he is, but really screaming at 5:30a is not my idea of fun.

Girls

JJ is just to cute and the boy at 10 months is a ladies man. All the ladies think he is the cutest thing and the boy tries to break his neck when he sees a beautiful women/girl walk by.

He will flash his dimple, toothy smile at them, he will wave and when they walk away his head is following.

I can see that it is going to be a fun ride with him and girls.

All I gotta say is LORD HELP US!!!!

Just Like Daddy

My mother in law has told me this story about Jeff and how he used to suck on his blankie. Well I have a blankie sucker as well.

Last night I went into JJ's room to check on him and he was laying on his right side, blanket in his left hand, blanket going under his right side, coming back up his back and draping over his left side. It was very cute really. But I couldn't help but smile and I got a nice giggle out of it because all I could think was this boy is just like his daddy.

While Jeff has moved beyond sucking on the blanket he does intwine himself in the blanket making it difficult for me to stay warm and that is what I thought of as I seen JJ the way he was.

I do feel sorry for his future wife, I hope they learn to sleep with 2 blankets, one for her and one for him.

Num-Num Noodles

Today JJ and I had chicken and noodle soup that I had made. So I fixed JJ's first and fed him while mine was warming up. When feeding him I would say num-num noodle (once the noodle went in his mouth). So after he finished his noodles I fixed his cup and sat him in the living room floor so he could drink his milk. I got my food and came and sat on the couch, so he came over to the couch with his cup wanting to sit on the couch. So I helped him up and sat him beside me to drink his milk and I was eating.

Apparently he wanted more noodles and started going num-num. So I was sharing them with him and he wanted to share his milk with me, I kept telling him no thank you. So he would take a drink and offer again. This went on a few minutes. He was going num-num, num-num while I was taking a few bites and I guess I was taking to long and he put his cup into my bowl of soup and grabbed a noodle.

My silly boy, needless to say he got to eat more noodles and well mommy was done. I went and rinsed the cup off and gave it back to him and he finished drinking his milk.

Age

So I like when my daughter tells me I am younger than I am. It makes me feel youthful and beautiful.

Then the other shoe falls and we have conversations like this:

H: Mommy your 50!

M: I know you didn't just say that I was 50. I am not 50.

H: OK OK your 90!!

How she went from 50 to 90 boggles my mind, but I think I will take the 50 over the 90. Even though I am only 33. Sigh!!

But she best be glad I love her because I could just hurt someone that said that!!!

Out of the blue

Harleyann screams:

"YOU'LL NEVER TAKE US ALIVE!!!"

She has watched Alvin in the Chipmunks one to many times I think. Her other fave saying that she goes around saying all the time from that movie is...

"It's Hott."

This cracked me up a little bit

As I am sure we have all at one time or another have seen the movie Charlotte's Web or read the book. Anyhow we all know that at the end Charlotte dies. So my daughter got the movie a couple years back when the new version came out. She has watched it some and this evening we were watching it and it got to the end right before Charlotte dies and Harleyann says "This part is so sad."

.............................

wait for it

............................

wait for it

............................

"It makes my ears cry."

I laughed and asked her if I heard her right? To which she said "and it makes my head cry."

So apparently my daughter does not cry the conventionally, as her eyes do not cry but her ears and head do.

Nothing is funnier than.....

When your little one just sits in the middle of the floor and starts laughing for no apparent reason. Ahhh wouldn't it be nice if we all just did that every now and then. Laugh for no reason.

Chalk Monster

So instead of a cookie monster, I have a chalk monster. No matter where I move the sidewalk chalk of Harleyann's, JJ is sure to find it and well eat it. I am hoping that it is not toxic, but then again I am sure that we all at some point in time ate chalk and probably a lot of other things that should not have been eaten, such as mudpies, dirt, worms, glue and well you get the drift.

I do now have it up and hopefully he will not be able to get it now and the next time he does will understand it is to draw on the sidewalk/road with and not eat.

JJ's first spaghetti supper

You know we all have to take pics of the first spaghetti supper of our little ones. JJ had his on Wends night and here are the pics:

My Children Make A Liar Outta Me

So last night JJ spent the night at his Nana and Pop-pops, the first time away from mommy overnight. I actually didn't do as bad as I thought I would, I had a much harder time with Harleyann. But it was nice. So I wrote down a note for Nana and I put on there that he wakes up every morning between 6 & 6:30A. BTW: I HATE that my children are morning people. So does he wake up between 6 & 6:30A, NO!!!!! He wakes up at 8A. WTH Seriously, I would give ANYTHING if he would sleep till 8a. I don't get it. But then whenever I say something about my daughter, I always get the report of the opposite. I SWEAR kids live to make their parents look like liars!!!
8A, I am not a morning person he can at least give me that, especially on the weekends when I don't have to be up to get Harleyann ready for school. It would be nice if I didn't have to deal with him being up while I am trying to get her ready for school. I think they have a pact to make it hard on me because I am running in 2 totally different directions until Harleyann gets on the bus.

What Mommy???

So I had heard JJ wake up, he cried all of 2 seconds and I thought well maybe he just cried in his sleep like sometimes he will do, because it got real quiet after that. So about 10 minutes later I heard him start babbling and laughing, so I go in his room. Right away I notice something missing. Can you guess what should be here?

Yes the mobile!!! He took it down and it is now in his crib where he had been playing with it. This is his “What are you talking about mommy? There is nothing in my crib that shouldn’t be!” look.

This is what his mobile looks like right now:

Crazy Kid!!

Theodore and Eleanor

As many of you have seen, McDonald’s currently has the Alvin and The Chipmunks 2 the Squeakquel toys in the happy meals. Well Harleyann has 2 of them, Theodore and Eleanor. So I was telling her that they are girlfriend and boyfriend and so she is playing with them making them converse; which is funny in itself. So she makes Eleanor tell Theodore, “I love you.” So then she runs in the living room and the following conversation ensued between us:

H: “Mommy, she told Theodore she loved her and that is so gross.”

M: “Well you are the one who made her say it, if you think it is gross don’t make her say it to him.”

H: “But mommy she loves him and he loves her.” Slight Pause “And she is the one that said it not me, I don’t talk for her.”

At that point I just did not know what to say so I just let it go and told her to go back and play.

Who's The Boss

These were taken 1/13/10. JJ was stepping on Harleyann. She was hollering he was standing on her but it was just to funny not to get a couple of pictures before getting him off of her.

Funny Picture of JJ

These were taken 1/14/10 after he had finished eating lunch and would not give me the spoon back after giving him the last bite.

JJ: Diaper Change Funny

JJ had just finished eating his lunch and he started to cry, he does not like wet/messy diapers on, so I check his diaper and it was messy. So I get the diaper undone and first thing he does is stick his leg on the poopy in the diaper. Of course I say "You are not suppose to make a bigger mess" to which I get a responding giggle. So I get the wipe and clean his leg off when he sticks his hand in the poop I have yet to clean off of his private area and just laughs. I think he knew what he was doing. So I finish cleaning his leg and then clean his hand and finally get to clean the original mess, when what does he do, yes he grabs his privates and starts pulling getting yet more poop on his hand all the while smiling and laughing. I finally get him cleaned up and you have to be fast with this kid because he is a mover and DOES NOT SIT STILL, EVER!!!! I finally fight through the diaper change and cleaning every other part of him that he could possibly get poop on and get his sleeper back on and then he is off!!!!

INTRO: The humor of it all

I am Leslie, I am a SAHM of 2 wonderful, yet humorous, children.

I first became a mom in June of 2002, when my wonderful daughter, Harleyann, was born. She decided to be born when I was only 24 weeks pregnant with her, so I did not get to experience the normal pregnancy, birth, early motherhood. While yes technically I was a parent, but my daughter spent the first 176 days of her like in the NICU and when she came home while she was like a newborn, it was different in the fact that she did not do things like a normal newborn. She was a week shy of 6 months old when we got to start our parenting journey and I have loved every moment of it. We have had our ups and downs, scary moments and all, but I have loved every minute of it and would not have changed a thing, because it has taught me many valuable life lessons. I remember when she was in the NICU not wanting to leave her, I was afraid what if while I was sleeping they tried to call me and I didn't wake up and we lost her, luckily that never happened and today she is a beautiful 7 year old with such an aura about her that makes people just love her. She was much older when she began to be a little comedian.

So fast forward to March 2009, after a long, stressful, scary, crazy, wild 37 weeks of pregnancy we welcomed a bouncing baby boy, Jeffrey Jr (JJ for short), literally bouncing, I swear I must have fed the kids Mexican jumping beans while I was pregnant with him. He decided to cook a lot longer than his sister, while it was not an easy pregnancy and spending a lot of time in the doctor’s office and sometime in the hospital we managed to make it to 37 weeks exactly. While at the end a very scary thing happened I can say I am here with him and we both made it through. Now since day one this kid has been a riot. He has done things that some people would be downright disgusted with, but I find it down right funny. You have to enjoy things in life and laugh and if your kids can't make you laugh then I think there is probably no hope for you.

So while I think my kids are dog on hilarious, I thought I would share some of their antics with the world. I hope that you will get some laughs as much as I do.
